Writing
Every day, students will be writing. Some weeks there will be more "writing to respond", which means that students will be asked to write their thoughts about something they read, including providing textual evidence, inferring, etc. Other times, students will be asked to create their own published pieces as authors. It is important that students go through the writing process (brainstorm/pre-write; draft; revise; edit; and publish).
Every week during this 1st 6 -week grading period, students will be practicing various pre-writing/brainstorming strategies to help create a personal narrative. This will be graded using the Common Core narrative writing rubric and will be specifically looked at for ideas and conventions.
The first writing assignment is a letter to Mrs. Tebon. This will be due Friday, Sept. 5. The assignment is here: Letter to Mrs. Tebon
