Being Prepared for Class:
For the 1st day of school: you need a 3" binder, spiral, and composition NB.
Every day, you need:
-an ORGANIZED binder with the school’s agenda/planner (students write in their agenda each day, including weekly homework)
-two or more pencils or pens, and a highlighter
-writing composition notebook (referred to as the writer's notebook)
-reading spiral (referred to as the reader’s notebook)
-intentional independent reading book (IIR book)
***You should be taking home your binder and book each day, as well as any homework assignments
Tardies:
It is important that you arrive to class on time, giving yourself little extra time to go to lockers and collect class work/supplies before class. If you are tardy in my class, you sign in at the door. I keep track of tardies for each six-week grading period. If you get to five tardies within one grading period, students are given lunch detention for one week and parents are contacted.
Behavior:
The behavior policy for this class revolves around the 3Rs: Respect yourself, Respect Others, and Respect Property. Behavior is tracked and follows a tiered format which begins with a warning, student calling parent, lunch and after school detentions, and can go to parent conference/discipline referral.
